All merino wool naturally protects against the sun, absorbing UV radiation without any chemical treatment. The level of UPF protection varies by fabric weight. For example, our 230g and 400g 100% merino knits—such as our midweight and heavyweight styles—offer UPF 50 protection, while our lighter knits provide UPF 25.

A UPF 25 rating means only about 1/25th (roughly 4%) of UV rays can pass through the fabric. With UPF 50, just 1/50th (about 2%) gets through. These protection levels apply consistently to all 100% merino wool garments of the same weight categories.

Every Metarino garment is crafted from superfine merino wool that’s incredibly soft and comfortable. It’s made to be worn directly against even the most delicate skin*. The fabric offers the plush feel of cashmere or a favorite broken-in vintage cotton t‑shirt, while still delivering all the natural performance benefits of merino wool.

*While Metarino Merino is among the softest and finest available, if you have sensitive skin or known fabric allergies, we recommend doing a patch test before wearing. This is a good practice with any clothing brand for those with skin sensitivities. Please consult a healthcare professional for guidance on how to perform a patch test.

High-quality materials and sources: Metarino Clothing is made with Woolmark-certified merino wool sourced from Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) Australian farms . Woolmark is a third-party certification that our merino meets the highest standard of fineness and softness. RWS certification is an international, voluntary standard that addresses animal welfare in sheep farms and the chain of custody of wool from certified farms to the final product.

Post-purchase waste reduction: We continually pursue creative solutions to a minimal waste footprint. All Metarino returns are sold or donated through local consignment and aid organizations in Seattle. Our recycling program also offers customers a path to turn their end-of-life garments into upcycled woolen goods.

Absolutely, so long as we haven't shipped it yet, prior to shipping we can make any required changes to addresses or the items very simply and quickly.

Once we have shipped it is not possible to change the order and instead you would need to go through the returns / exchange process. If you need to change your order do contact us as soon as you can.
